Ohio Fall Production Sale Wrap-up

The Ohio Fall Production Sale was held on Saturday, October 20 in Wooster, Ohio. A beautiful, turned blustery, fall day blew in many bidders, and 25 buyers purchased Jerseys at this annual event. The sale saw 216 head sell to five states (AL, OH, PA, TX, WI).

Volume buyers were Nico Deboer of Chandler, Tx., with 52 head of bred heifers and milk cows, and Jennings Jersey Farm, Gordo, Ala., with 34 head of young calves.

  • Lots 155, 159 and 314 Sold for $1650 and Lot 312 sold for $1600.
  • A total of 10 head sold for $1500 or more.

Ohio Fall Production Sale – In Pictures

The Ohio Fall Production Sale will be on Saturday, October 20 in Wooster, Ohio at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. The auction will begin around 11:00 a.m. (EDT). There are over 200 head selling, including milking and dry cows, bred heifers of all trimesters, and close to 100 open heifers from breeding age to September calves.

Ohio Fall Production Sale – Catalog Online

The Ohio Fall Production Sale catalog is now online for you to download, view and print. The sale will be on October 20, 2018 at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Wooster, Ohio, beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Over 200 head will sell, with a large amount of Open heifers, Bred heifers and springing heifers and close to 40 milk cows. Watch for more from the sale later next week, featuring Registered Jerseys from breeders in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Kentucky.

Ohio Fall Production Sale Final Tally

The Ohio Fall Production Sale was held today in Wooster, Ohio, at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. A great crowd enjoyed fellowship and viewing the 187 head of Jerseys who went through the sale ring. The average on today’s sale was $1,466.58 on everything from milk cows, bred and open heifers and a baby calf.

Jerseys were consigned to the sale from Indiana, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Tennessee.

Gaby Jersey Farm, Tenn., had the three top-selling lots, with Lot 22 at $2500, Lot 28 at $2500 and Lot 30 at $2600. All sold to Sand Creek Dairy, LLC of Hastings, Mich.

Ohio State University was the consignor of the next two high lots, Lot 125 at $2400 and Lot $126 at 2350. They also sold to Sand Creek Dairy, LLC.

Buyers from the sale were from California, Michigan, New York, Ohio and Texas. Volume buyers were Mibelloon Dairy, LLC, Mich., with 50 head and Nico DeBoer, Tx., with 56 head.

The Ohio Fall Production Sale will be held on Saturday, October 21, at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Wooster, Ohio. Beginning at 11:00 a.m. (EDT), approximately 187 head will go through the ring. Milk Cows down to a newborn will be offered from Jersey breeders in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Tennessee.
