Scenic View Jerseys – ONLINE SALE ANNOUNCED

Scenic View Jerseys has announced they will be selling the remaining 23 head from their herd, online, ending Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. (EST). The Leroy and Martha Sue Miller herd has been bred for deep cow families, high GJPI and high GJUI potential. Many of the consignments are polled.

There are no JX pedigrees and no females selling with a bracket following their name. Cows and bred heifers will be the focus of the sale selection.

Stay tuned over the next few days as pedigrees, pictures and videos are added to the bidding site, JerseyBid.com. The sale will open on Friday, November 16 at 9:00 a.m. (EST) and will remain open until closing bids started at 2:00 p.m. (EST) on November 20, 2018. Horse Race Style Extended Bidding on www.jerseybid.com will explain the close out process.

All American Jersey Sale Finale

The All American Jersey Sale was held on Sunday evening as part of the All American Jersey Show and Sale series in Louisville, Ky. A crowd filled the West Hall of the Kentucky Expo Center and Fairgrounds, joining those viewing online, for a night of lively bidding. Consignors from around the United States offered up 57 live females, female choices or embryo consignments for a sale average of $4765.

Top selling heifer of the evening sold from her home in Texas as an August 2018 young female. The winning bidder after some competitive bidding was ST Genetics of Navasota, Tx., buying JX Faria Brothers Mald Scary Terry {4}-ET for $60,000. Faria Brothers Dairies from Dumas, Tx., was the consignor.

ST Genetics also purchased Lot 1, who tied for second high top selling female of the evening. Valsigna Viceroy 31654 sold for $11,600 and was consigned by Wickstrom Dairies L.P., Hilmar, Calif.

MilkSource Gentry Mayhem-ET was consigned to the All American Sale by Milk Source Genetics in Kaukauna, Wis., and she tied for second high seller of the night. Misty Meadow Dairy of Tillamook, Ore., was the final bidder on this typey heifer, buying her for $11,600.

Lot 58 sold from her home in Baldwin, Md., and was consigned by Kevin Ehrhardt. For $11,500, Ehrhardt Casino Sunday will be making her new home in Hilmar, Calif., at Vierra Dairy Farms.

Hawarden Jerseys Inc. of Weston, Idaho, purchased Lot 3 for $10,000, rounding out the top 5 selling heifers of the All American Sale. JX Ahlem Tradition Lady 52210 {6}-P was consigned by Ahlem Farms Partnership of Hilmar, Calif.

Pot O’Gold Sale Top Sellers

The 61st Pot O’Gold was held this evening in New Market Hall in Louisville, Ky., as part of the Junior All American Jersey Show and events. The 36 consignments in the sale were a genomic tested group of production oriented heifers. Junior Jersey breeders invest in and build their herds from this program. The average on the Pot O’Gold sale was $2733.

The top selling lot was Lot 135, JX Avi-Lance Bltzar Blitzen 18989 {6} from D&E Jerseys in Dalhart, Tx. The heifer sold for $7000 to Jack Swanson of Hilmar, Calif.

Second top selling lot was Lot 111 JX Jer-Z-Boyz Got Maid 61357 {6}, consigned by Jer-Z-Boyz of Pixley, Calif. She was purchased by Robert Graves of Dundas, Ill., for $6200.

Third top selling lot was Lot 104 from D&D Jerseys and Lloyd Heinz, Newton, Wis., for $5100. JX Dodan LH Future Trifecta {4}-ET sold to Austin Haywood, Hastings, Mi.

Pot O’Gold Consignments – PICTURES

The Pot O’Gold Sale is a junior breeder based sale, with all genomic tested consignments, focused on building young herds and the future of the breed. The consignments for 2018 will all have their eligible production records reviewed after their first lactation is complete, with production awards to be presented in 2021. The sale is presented by Cow’s Match Jersey Blend, Land O’Lakes Animal Milk Products Co.

The sale is on Saturday, November 3, 2018, beginning at 4:30 p.m. (EDT). It is part of a busy junior Jersey activity day, with the All American Junior Jersey Show and the Junior Jersey Breeders Awards banquet in the morning and evening respectively.
