The Rawn family of Lancaster, Ohio will dispersing their Jersey herd on Saturday, March 16 at 5:30 p.m. (EDT). A total of 79 head of Jerseys and a handful of Holsteins, with deep families, will be offered at the sale.

The sale will be broadcast on Jersey Auction Live for live broadcast and bidding if you are unable to attend the sale in person.

Directions to the farm: Off of Coonpath/ Hwy-31 turn onto Election House Rd. Once on Election House turn right on to Ginder Rd.  Turn right off of Ginder onto Hatter Rd.  At the end of Hatter Road, go through the housing development and it will dead end right into the farm.

Health Tests: All animals tested for interstate shipment. Animals that are official calfhood vaccinates will be announced. All animals have been tested for brucellosis, tuberculosis. A bulk tank sample for Staph aureus, Mycoplasma species, and BVD was negative

Scenic View Jerseys – ONLINE SALE ANNOUNCED

Scenic View Jerseys has announced they will be selling the remaining 23 head from their herd, online, ending Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. (EST). The Leroy and Martha Sue Miller herd has been bred for deep cow families, high GJPI and high GJUI potential. Many of the consignments are polled.

There are no JX pedigrees and no females selling with a bracket following their name. Cows and bred heifers will be the focus of the sale selection.

Stay tuned over the next few days as pedigrees, pictures and videos are added to the bidding site, JerseyBid.com. The sale will open on Friday, November 16 at 9:00 a.m. (EST) and will remain open until closing bids started at 2:00 p.m. (EST) on November 20, 2018. Horse Race Style Extended Bidding on www.jerseybid.com will explain the close out process.

Online Semen Sale announced

Announcing a JERSEYBID.com ONLINE SEMEN SALE, available for bidding from September 20 – 24, with Horse Race Style Extended Bidding beginning at 1:30 p.m. (EDT) the final day. One consignor’s tank inventory is what is available, both in conventional and sexed semen. All bidding is price per unit. The Consignor is Don Vantress of Ohio.

PLEASE NOTE these special announcements:

  • The semen tank will be available for buyers to pick up their purchases at World Dairy Expo, Madison, WI., and at the North American International Livestock Expo (NAILE) / All American Jersey Show and Sale in Louisville, KY. Please notify JMS who will be picking up the semen and at which event.
  • NO DELIVERIES WILL BE MADE PAST THESE TWO COLLECTION POINTS.  If you cannot make it to Madison or Louisville, or make arrangements for pick-up at these locations, please locate a shipper to be sent to the AJCA office for pick-up. JMS does not have access to a shipper.
  • Payment must have been received in the AJCA office, or handed to a JMS representative at time of semen collection, in order to receive your purchase.

A total of 34 lots of conventional and sexed semen will be available, with roughly 109 total straws available.

The fall sale season will be upon us quickly and we are looking for your consignments! We have several regional sales and elite national sales for you to consider putting your herd’s best!

Please turn your lists of quality production based cows, nice replacement heifers, notable cow family members, superior type, and/or genomic tested prospects in to your area representative or the JMS staff. We would be happy to help you market your Jersey genetics!

Buckeye Production Sale Concludes

The inaugural Buckeye Production Sale was held in Wooster, Ohio at the Wayne County Fairgrounds on Saturday, June 16., 2018. The sale featured the dispersal of Rudy Hoschstetler’s Registered Jersey herd from Millersburg, Ohio, as well as consignments from Jersey breeders in OH, PA, TN and WV.

A total of 168 head went through the JMS sale ring, for an average of $1034.

Several head sold above $1500, but topping the sale was Lot 58, JX Cantendo Legal Radiant {3}, at $1700 The milk cow was consigned by Rudy Hochstetler, and was purchased by Pine Tree Dairy of Rittman, Ohio. The second high selling lot was 142 from Gaby Jersey Farm, Greeneville, Tenn. Nico DeBoer of Chandler, Tx., purchased the bred heifer for $1600.

The volume buyer of the sale was Nico DeBoer, with other buyers supporting the sale from MI, NY, OH, PA and WV.
