Sorenson Hillview Jersey Milking Herd Dispersal

Sorenson’s Hillview milking Jersey dispersal saw a damp start and sunny end, with 22 buyers, most of who were on hand in a standing room only tent full of Jersey breeders.

Chris and Steve Sorenson families dispersed their Hillview Jersey milking herd today, including “Key Largo” and “Keylime”, major polled, genomic influences within the herd. A total of 111 head of milk cows, bred heifers, young heifers from the “Key Largo” and “Keylime” families, and bulls averaged $2,512,

Top Seller

“Keylime” sold to Jerseyland Sires, California for an investment of $16,500.

Lot 3 – Hillview Dominic Keylight-P-ET was the second high selling lot of the day. A “Dominic” daughter of “Keylime,” “Keylight” was purchased by David Allen, All Lynn Jerseys, Wis., for $5,900.

Samuel and Clara Kempf from Coloma, Wis., purchased 58 head of the Sorenson milk cows to add to their expanding herd.

A lively, fun time was had, showing appreciation for the breeding that Chris and Steve have put together in their Jersey herd.

JMS thanks the Sorenson families for inviting us into their herd to manage the event, and we also thank all the bidders and buyers at today’s sale.

The next JMS managed sale will be the Ohio Fall Production Sale in Wooster, OH.
