The Dairyland Protein Sale was held today in Janesville, WI. This year’s sale featured the complete dispersal of the RNS Jersey herd. It was a strong day for the Jersey.
A total of 122 lots, including semen, averaged $1813.73. Cows averaged over $2100 and bred heifers averaged over $2300.
The College of the Ozarks, Point Lookout, MO, purchased the top-selling lot of the day for $3000. Lot 16 – Dairyman Miles 2316 is due in November to “Mackenzie.” She was consigned by Hoard’s Dairyman, WI.
The second high selling lot was sold for $2900 and also was from Hoard’s Dairyman Farm. Dairyman Jupiter 2317, Lot 14, due soon to sexed “Lincoln,” was purchased by Jim DeLange, Elkhorn, WI.
