New York Next Generation Sale Concludes

The Steuben County Fairgrounds was the site of today’s New York Next Generation Sale, held with live animals on site and cattle selling online, in groups from their home location. A total of 99 head sold, with a $938 average.

Top seller was Lot 1, at $3500. She was consigned by Underground Genetics and sold to Jack Button, both of NY.

The second high seller will also make her new home with buyer Jack Button. She sold for $3150 and was consigned by Tyler Herrington, NY.

The volume buyer was Emerling Farm, NY. Cattle sold to NY, OH, PA, and TN.

New York Next Generation Sale – ON SATURDAY!

The New York Next Generation Sale will be at the Steuben County Fairgrounds, Bath, N.Y., on Saturday, May 5. The sale will have online, live broadcast and bidding of the sale on JerseyAuctionLive.com. The pre-bidding portion, group lot, portion of the sale will end bidding at 10:00 a.m. at www.jerseybid.com. Any lots carrying a bid will then begin at that amount in the live sale that begins at 11:00 a.m. Only lots carrying bids in the online pre-sale will move to the live sale.

There are a little over 200 head slated to cross the auction block, with breakdowns as follows:

  • 2 milk cows and 1 dry cow
  • 47 3rd Trimester
  • 41 2nd Trimester
  • 10 1st Trimester
  • 11 Too Close To Call Pregnant
  • 75 Opens at or around breeding age
  • 17 Opens who are too little to check

JMS announces that it will be working with Woodstock Dairy to reduce their herd by 70 cows and 40 heifers on May 18, 2018 in Janesville, Wis. The sale will be held at the Rock County Fairgrounds.
