Join JMS and Ohio Consignors for the Ohio Fall Production Sale on October 22 at 11:00 a.m. in Wooster, Ohio at the Wayne County Fairgrounds.
The Mid-Atlantic Fall Jersey Classic Sale sold 291 head on Friday, September 23 in Pine Grove, Pa., for an average of $1,336. Cows, Bred Heifers, Open Heifers, a bull and some baby calves were all sold in the sale hosted by the Craig Rhein Family.
High selling lot of the day was Lot 3, consigned by Billings Farm, Woodstock, Vt. The springing heifer was sold to Duane Burkholder from Pa., for $2700. Duane also bought Lot 2, a second springing heifer from Billings Farm for $2,300, tied for third selling high lots in the sale.
Sale host Craig Rhein had the second high selling lot of the Mid-Atlantic Sale. Lot 89, a third trimester pregnant heifer, sold for $2,500 to Dexter Knapp of New Hampshire. Dexter was the final bidder on Lot 176 from Dutch Hollow Farms, Schodack Landing, N.Y. She was tied for the third high spot, selling for $2,300.
Twenty-two buyers purchased cattle from the audience and online, from eight different states, including NH, NY, OH, PA, SC, TX, UT, and VT. Adrie Vanderjagt of Sulphur Springs, Tx., was the volume buyer of the day with 63 head.
