The Mid-Atlantic Fall Jersey Classic Sale was held at the Craig Rhein family heifer facility in Pine Grove, Pa.
The 255 lots (including a newborn heifer) brought a gross total of $471,625 with an average of $1,849.51.
Seven different states were represented as buyers (MD, NY, OH, PA, TX, VA, WI) with Adrie Vanderjagdt, TX being the volume buyer with 57 head. Many other buyers, with a few participants online, helped to make the sale a great success.
LOT 282 – BLUEROCK TH SUREFIRE VICTORIA was the top selling lot of the day. This September, 2013 calf was consigned by John & Amon Grantham, WV and was purchased for $4000 by Sam, Angela and George Colpetzer, PA.

The TOP OF THE WORLD JERSEY SALE catalog is now available online for you to download and print for closer inspection of the 26 great lots of cattle, choices, embryos and semen. The sale will be held Tuesday of the World Dairy Expo festivities, September 30 at 7:00 p.m. (CDT).
The Dairyland Protein Sale catalog will soon be available, completing a week of great Jersey shows and sales in the “dairy” state of Wisconsin.

The Dixie Invitational weather didn’t disappoint. It was another hot and humid day in Newberry, S.C. at Bush River Jerseys, the host of the Dixie Invitational Sale again this year. The cattle were good and the bidding was fast and furious from under the tent and from on JerseyAuctionLive.com.
A total of 110 lots sold today, for an average of $1835.23 and a gross of $201,875.
A newborn heifer from Lot 27 and 3 embryos were last-minute additions to the sale. The embryos were from Dutch Hollow Charlemagne (7JE1376), GJPI +272 and out of Barkley Kate, E-92%. The embryos went to Eastglen Farms, S.C., for $1800 ($600 each) and were consigned by Bradley and Carla Taylor, Miss. and Cedarcrest Farms, Ala.
Frank, Marilyn and Glen Easter purchased the high selling heifer of the Dixie Invitational, consigned by Cedarcrest Farm. George Rankin was on hand to represent his family, and Jason Robinson, JMS manager congratulates the group.Eastglen Farm also bought the top selling live lot of the day. Lot 98, Jake Jewel, is a September 2013 Jaces Jake-ET daughter directly out of Barkly Kate herself! Consigned by Cedarcrest Farm, “Jewel” brought $3,450.
Cattle were purchased from nine states (KY, LA, MS, NE, OH, SC, TN, TX, VA). Adrie Vanderjagt of Texas bought 23 head to be the top volume buyer of the day. The internet bidders and buyers were an influence on the sale, with 83 of 110 lots carrying bids from the internet, 30 lots selling to internet buyers and 34 holding contending bids. Carlyle Farms, Ohio, was the top internet buyer with 16 head.
