The 59th Annual Pot O’Gold Sale catalog is now online. The sale, focusing on production and youth, will feature 34 genomic tested consignments.
Take a look through the gallery of dams and grandams supporting many of the consignments in the sale. These deep pedigrees show that production is important, and they look good doing it! Start picking out your and your junior member’s favorite lot(s) and invest in the future of Jersey youth and their herds!
Eligibility to Purchase : Animals in the Pot O’Gold Sale can only be purchased by juniors between the ages of 7 and 20 (inclusive) on January 1 of the sale year, who reside in the United States or Canada. A junior may purchase only one Pot O’Gold calf per contest year. Related or unrelated youth may purchase an animal to be transferred to them in partnership. A junior may not purchase an animal consigned by a member of his or her immediate family.
Loss, death or transfer of ownership of any purchase before the record is complete will eliminate the heifer and owner(s) from the Pot O’Gold Production Contest.

The Ohio Fall Production Sale was held on Saturday, October 22 in Wooster, Ohio. 126 head went through the sale ring at the Wayne County Fairgrounds, representing Jersey breeders from Ohio, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Milk cows, bred heifers and open heifers had a sale average of $1400.
Six head sold for over $2000, with the top seller at $2200.

Clareshoe Premier Tiffany was consigned by Steven Shoemaker from Salem, Ohio. She was purchased by Vanderfeltz Jerseys in Lawton, Pa.
Next top-selling lot was Lot 85 – Clover Patch Volcano Heidi from Neal Smith, Ohio. Fellow Ohio Jersey breeder, Sam Bok bought this bred heifer, due in a month, for $2150

Lot 84 – IGL Texas Monopoly-ET, also from Neal Smith, was purchased by J & Rachel Hodge and Greg Lavan, Norwich, OH for $2100.
Lots 98, 104, and 215 were purchased for $2000. Cantendo Acres, Ohio, and Van De Jerseys, Pa., were the consignors and Glen Meadows Farm, N.Y., and Brittany & Chris Davis, Ohio were the buyers of these three lots.
Adrie Vanderjagt, Texas, was the volume buyer of the day, with 50 head purchased.
16 different buyers from Indiana, Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas took cattle home from the Ohio Fall Production Sale.

Two online bidding opportunities will begin this week on JerseyBid.com. You can reserve your full share of either of the All American Jersey Sale Syndicate Bulls, “Maid-Rite” and “Boaz.” Later in the week, the Fall Semen Sale will take place online, featuring semen from bulls of different generations.

The All American Jersey Sale will be syndicating two bulls this year, Sunset Canyon Maid-Rite-ET and Jars of Clay Boaz-ET. Full shares are available online, bid one time and be added to the syndicate of the bull of your choice.

ALSO ON JERSEY BID – is the Fall Semen Sale. Semen consignments will be accepted up until October 26. The sale will begin on October 26 and close at 1:30 p.m. (EDT) October 28. All bidding will be on www.jerseybid.com.

The Ohio Fall Production Sale will be featuring just over 125 head this year. Milk cows and springing heifers are available, as well as dry cows, bred heifers, breeding aged heifers and younger open heifers.
