Buckeye Classic Jersey Sale Highlights

BuckeyeTile2016The Buckeye Classic Spring Jersey Sale was held this evening in conjunction with the Ohio Spring Dairy Expo in Columbus, Ohio. Jersey Marketing Service was happy to co-manage this event with the Buckeye Dairy Club.

A total of 30 head went through the ring and with bidding help from the crowd and the internet, averaged $2,143. Buyers were from five different states, including Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin. Internet bidders bought 17 head through JerseyAuctionLive.com.

Top Seller Lot 30Lot 30 was the top selling lot of the Buckeye Classic Spring Jersey Sale. She sold to Clear View Jerseys LLC from Orient, Ohio for $4,100. Lavon Farms Bailey was consigned by Lavon Farms, Emory, Texas.

Second Top - Lot 27Lot 27, Lavon Farms Eclipes 9791, also consigned by Lavon Farms, was the second high selling lot of the evening. Allyn Paulson, Juneau, Wis., purchased her for $4,000.

 

Glenview Jersey Dispersal Concludes

Cows on the SnowIt was a cold, snowy, entertaining day in southwest Pennsylvania at the Glenview Jersey Farm Complete Dispersal. A filled tent of bidders, as well as a strong internet bidder showing, made for a lively sale amongst the blowing tent and snow.

The sale averaged $1,758 on 87 head. The cattle went to eight different states, including MI, MD, NY, OH, OR, PA, VA, and WV. Pine Tree Dairy from Ohio was the volume buyer of the day, purchasing 17 head with the aid of internet bidding.

Lot 118

Lot 118 was the high selling lot of the day at $5000. She sold to Madison Manges, Pa., and was an “Incentive” calf from Glenview Comerica Frannie, E-93%.

Lot 17Lot 17 – Glenview Minister Bailey, VG-88% was the second high selling lot of the day at $4000. She sold to Sam, Angela, and George Colpetzer, Pa.

Cows Match BannerThe 2015 Pot O’Gold sale was held the evening of November 7, as part of the Jersey youth activities at the All American Jersey show. A total of 33 head were sold to Junior Jersey breeders, averaging $4,487.

Jerseyland California Gold Sale – Conclusion

CA Gold FALL SaleThe Jerseyland California Gold Sale, held in Hilmar, Calif., on October 24, was a combination online and live sale. Final live bidding was hosted by Hilmar Cheese Co., with a small crowd in the room, on phones and on live internet bid feed.

A total of 424 head of milk cows and springers sold in 17 minutes with an average of $2160.73. There were a total of six buyers.

 

Ohio Fall Production Sale Concludes

Ohio Fall SaleA chill in the air reminded attendees of the Ohio Fall Production Sale in Wooster, Ohio, that it is fall! 163 head of milk cows, bred heifers, open heifers and bulls went through the sale ring at the Wayne County Fairgrounds, averaging $1,554.51.

Lot 8  topped the sale for $2700. Grammer Pine-Tree Topeka Sarah was a third trimester heifer consigned by Matthew Steiner, Marshallville, OH and purchased by Craig Fortner, OH.

Three lots ties for second top sellers at $2,600 each.

Adrie Vanderjagt of Texas was the volume buyer of the day, with 54 head.

There were 24 total buyers at the sale, most of whom are from Ohio.
