The New York Fall Sale will be held on TUESDAY, September 24, 2013 starting at 11:00 a.m. in Norwich, NY at the Chenango County Fairgrounds. A nice group of mostly bred heifers is available from breeders in NY, PA and nearby states. A few good production oriented cows are also for sale, as well as open heifers who range from just weaned to breeding age.

VT Fall Sale Banner

A beautiful sunny 80 degree day in New Hampshire at the Vermont State Sale. A total of 168 lots sold for an average of $869.79.

The high selling lot was Lot #2, a 2-year-old due in March with a deep family pedigree that includes “Veronica” on the maternal side. She was consigned by Dawn Sharts, NY and was purchased by Jay & Lori Hoyt, NY for $2,600.

Second high selling lot was Lot #9, consigned by Billings Farm, VT and was purchased by Vantress Jerseys, OH for $2,275. She is a November, 2012 open heifer, also from a deep family pedigree.

Third highest was Lot #93, a March heifer consigned by David & Melanie Carmichael, VT. The calf, whose pedigree was backed by a great number of Excellent and Very Good maternal family members, was purchased by Dexter Knapp, NH for $2,025.

The Dairyland Protein Sale, featuring the All-Lynn Production Sale – is now ONLINE!

The catalog can be viewed and downloaded from the JMS website. There are a number of herds with great production AND genetics highlighted in this sale, including the All-Lynn Herd, a large offering from Roger Camp, the Orthridge / Berry College partnership and other notable WI and TN breeders.

The sale is on October 3, 2013 – during World Dairy Expo week – and is in Janesville, WI at the Rock County 4-H Fairgrounds. The sale will start at 11:00 a.m. (CDT) and is only 45 minutes south of Madison, WI!

Grammer Summer End Sale Wrap-Up

The Grammer Summer End Sale was held today – a day that truly felt like the summer has ended! The beautiful, crisp sunny day near Sebring, OH was welcome as compared to the intense heat and rainy days earlier in the week.

The Bill Grammer family sold a variety of milk cows, dry cows and bred heifers, and also welcomed consignments from the Albright, Shoemaker, and Schirm families of OH and VanDe Jerseys of PA.

A combined total of 167 head went though the ring today, with a final average of $1,451.20. Lot 3822 was the high seller for the day at $2550 and was purchased by Sam and Julie Bok, OH. With a GJPI of 151, this February 2012 “Naokao” daughter was sold due in November due to “Ghent.”

Second High selling honors went to Lots 3852 and 3591, both for $2450. Lot 3852 was sold to Sam and Julie Bok and is a “Golda” daughter due in January to “Visionary.” Lot 3591 was sold to Craig Fortner, OH. This “Blackstone” daughter was Fresh in April and was serviced to “Volcano” earlier in September.

The Steiner Family, OH purchased the next high selling lot at $2400, and purchased her online as part of Jersey Auction Live. Lot 5331 is a December 2011 “Zuma” daughter from Steven Shoemaker, with a GJPI of 165 and due in October to “Layne.”
