New York Sale Wrap-up

NY Fall Sale Banner

The New York Sale, held at the Chenango County Fairgrounds, Norwich, NY was a beautiful, sunny, fall day. A total of 93 head of cows and heifers from springer status to a few months old were sold for an average of $953.76.

The high selling lots were Lot 5 and Lot 55, selling for $1575. Lot 5, consigned by Lawtons from NY was purchased by Jerald Stewart, NY. She is sired by a bull from the Lawton herd and is out of an Excellent-90% dam with over 21,800M in her 3-4 lactation. Lot 5 was fresh in August and was recently scored VG-83%.

Lot 55 was consigned by Crossland Farms, LLC, MD and was bought by Vance Spencer, PA. The “Action” March 2012 heifer is due in March to “TBone.” She is out of an E-90% dam with over 20,000M at 4-4. Two more Excellent dams follow.

A majority of the cattle sold to breeders in New York and Pennsylvania, with Maryland and Tennessee also participating.
