Online Semen Sale Announced…

Jersey Marketing Service (JMS) is announcing an Online Semen Sale, on Jerseybid.com, taking place on December 12-14. This semen sale will feature “ANTIQUE” BULLS in the roster! We will leave the date of “antique” up to you! Check your tank(s) for any semen that you have extra inventory of, no matter how “back in time” the genetics are, and let us know if we can help clear out some room by putting them in the sale!

Now accepting consignments for this sale, until 7 p.m. (EST) December 11.

Please include the following information when submitting your semen consignments:

  • Full name of bull and/or NAAB stud code
  • How many units (straw / ampule) are to be sold
  • Desired Price per unit (straw / ampule). An option of “no minimum bid” is available
    • Commission is 7% for minimum bid, “reserve” price and 6% for no “reserve” price
  • Where the semen is housed and if a transport tank is available for shipment

65th All American Jersey Sale Finish

The 65th All American Jersey Sale was held on Sunday, November 5 in Louisville, Ky., as part of the All American Jersey Show events. A total of 59 consignments sold, including two bull syndicates, for an average of $7805.

With females and choices alone, 57 consignments averaged $6047. 37 different buyers from 17 different states purchased in the sale.

The top selling lot, outside of the bull syndicates, was a choice from Musqie Iatola Martha, E-96%, the first female to be offered from the past Supreme Champion of World Dairy Expo. Milk Source Genetics from Wis., was the consignor, with Vierra Dairy Farm of Hilmar, Calif., buying the March 2017 PREMIER calf for $30, 500.

High Seller at the 65th All American Jersey Sale

The female consignment to sell for the second highest amount of the day was Lot 6, Cal-Mart Tad Prissy 9204, from Martin Dairy LLC, Tillamook, Ore. She was purchased by ST Genetics, Navasota, Tx., for $28,200.

Next on the high seller list was Lot 3, JX Lucky Hill Wildflower {6}-ET, from Lucky Hill Farm in Danville, Vt. She sold to Vierra Dairy Farms for $24,700.

The 60th Pot O’Gold Sale was held on Saturday evening, November 4, in Louisville, Ky., as part of the All American Junior Jersey Show activities. A huge thanks to Cow’s Match Jersey Blend, Land O’Lakes Animal Milk Products for continuing to support our Jersey youth!

A great night of family bonding and new and seasoned Jersey youth experiencing the thrill of a sale, 32 genomic tested heifers paraded through the ring at the Pot O’Gold Sale. They averaged $2959.

Top selling heifer was consigned by Her-Man Jerseys and Sunny Day Farm, Chester, S.C. Lot 136 is Her-Man/SDF Balin Beck-P, selling for $7500 to Camille Herrera of Hilmar, Ca.

Second high selling heifer, and another exchange of coasts, was Lot 107, Primus Kwynn Haven-ET. She was consigned by Jerseyland Sires, Turlock, Ca., and was purchased by Lydia Chittenden, Schodack Landing, N.Y., for $5200.

We wish all the Jersey youth all the best with their purchases in the 60th Pot O’Gold Sale. You make us all proud!

All American Sale Line-Up

The 65th All American Sale will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2017, 4:30 p.m. (EST) in Louisville, Ky. The event is part of the three-day celebration of Jerseys at the All American Jersey Show, starting with the Junior show, banquet and Pot O’Gold Sales today.

The All American Sale showcases genetics for all herd types. From the show ring to the milk tank, from genomics to 4-H project and herd building calves, all experienced and aspiring Jersey breeders can bid on some of the best the breed has to offer.

The 60th Pot O’Gold Sale will take place in Louisville, Ky., on Saturday, November 4 at 4:30 p.m. (EDT). The event is a part of the many Junior Jersey Breeder events taking place at the All American Jersey Show that day. This year’s sale is presented by Cow’s Match Jersey Blend, Land O’Lakes Animal Milk Products Co., and will take place in the Newmarket Hall location. The sale will also be broadcast on JerseyAuctionLive.com for LIVE viewing and bidding.

RULES for the sale: Because the Pot O’Gold Sale is a Junior Jersey Breeder event, there are a few rules for purchasing. The full list can be seen in the 2017 POG Catalog.

  • Animals in the Pot O’Gold Sale can only be purchased by juniors between the ages of 7 and 20 (inclusive) on January 1 of the sale year, who reside in the United States or Canada. A junior may only purchase one POG calf per contest year.
  • This is a production contest, and the awards for the 2017 Pot O’Gold Sale will be presented in 2020. Again, information on records and testing eligibility are in the 2017 POG Catalog

Take a look through the sale line-up to add your next Jersey in your herd, build a solid base of genomics, production, type and genetics! All heifers are genomic tested, with some having preliminary numbers announced at the sale. (Pan of sale line-up)
