Northeast Jersey Sale Wrap-up

The Northeast Jersey Classic and Breeders Sale wrapped up in a sunny spring day in Wallingford, Vt. Gerald and Diane Colvin opened their doors to Jersey Marketing Service and the Northeast Breeders this week, allowing cattle in their pastures and barn. 

A total of 274 head went through the ring, bringing an average of $1423.81.


The top selling lot in the Northeast Jersey Classic and Breeders was Lot 7, consigned by Molly Brook Farms, West Danville, Vt. She will find her new home in Touchet, Wash., with Jeff and Andrea Adams for $3750. 

Several Jersey breeders from 17 states bought in the sale (CT, IA, IN, ME, MA, MO, NE, NH, NY, OH, PA, SC, TN, VA, VT, WA, WI).

Most of the heifers in the Northeast Jersey Classic and Breeders Sale have been soaking up the sun and enjoying spring green pastures in Wallingford, Vt. A select group of cows and heifers have been enjoying the hospitality of Gerald & Diane Colvin’s tie-stall barn, soaking up special attention! Genomics, type and production are represented throughout the sale, no matter of housing preferences.

The Northeast Jersey Classic and Breeder’s Sale has had a great weather week for preparing the cattle for tomorrow’s sale in Wallingford, Vt. Dusty Creek Farm, Gerald and Diane Colvin, graciously have agreed to host this year’s event, which will begin at 11:00 a.m. on April 23, 2016.

New York’s Next Generation Catalog ONLINE

The catalog for the New York Next Generation Jersey Sale is now available online. A group of great consignments will be available in live and online formats.

JerseyBidThe first part of the sale will feature 20 + lots in an online sale, hosted by JerseyBid.com. These lots feature group and individual lots, type, bred heifers and more! All online lots can be bid on, starting on April 25. All lots meeting at least their minimum bid will move to the LIVE sale on April 30.

The live sale will feature about 45 consignments being housed and available for viewing at the Steuben County Fairgrounds, Bath, N.Y. They, along with all online lots meeting their bid requirements, will begin selling at 11:00 a.m. on April 30 at the fairgrounds.

An Exciting Finish to the Kentucky National Jersey Sale

KyNational_CatalogTile16The Kentucky National Jersey Sale concluded with an exciting day of bidding.  A group of great consignments, along with a competitive crowd in Louisville, Ky. and on the internet, allowed the 52 head selling to average $2,138.

Top selling lot was Lot 44 – Millers Tradition Fascination, consigned by the Dick Miller Family of Indiana. She is due in June to “Showdown” and is out of the “Farrah” family. Jason Nagel of New York purchased this bred heifer for $6800.

The second top-selling lot of the sale was the Junior Champion of the show, Lot 14 – Winterplace Look Out Glass, from Neal Smith, Ohio. This summer yearling was purchased by Jack and Kelly Baird, Taylorsville, Ky., for $4300.

Seven lots sold for over $3000. Buyers from 14 different states purchased cattle from today’s sale.
