Northeast Jersey Classic and Breeders Sale Wrap-Up

Northeast Breeders SaleThe Northeast Jersey Classic & Breeders Sale was held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Vermont State Fairgrounds in Rutland, Vt. Standing room only crowds with competitive bidding all around helped 267 head bring an average of $1,644.76.

The sale was slit into a tie-up showcase of genetics and the loose housing of the greater volume of the heifers consigned.

The top seller was Lot 1, Billings Minister Martina, VG-88%. Selling dry and Due to “Premier” in early June, she was consigned by Billings Farm & Museum, Woodstock, Vt. Making the successful last bid for $4,100 was John Miller, Leeds, Maine.

The high volume buyer of the day was Daniel Stoltzfus, Honey Brook, Pa. He purchased 89 heifers with an average price of $1,514.

Kentucky National Jersey Sale Concludes

The Kentucky National Jersey Sale concluded today with a $2261 average on 58 lots, including three group lots of bred heifers and four embryo lots.

Top Selling Lot 44 was also the Grand Champion of the Kentucky National Show and Sale today.

Lot 44 – Joeleebeth Nevada Karmel, E-91% was Grand Champion of the show today and also the high selling lot in the sale for $6500. “Karmel” is a 5-year-old, served to “Colton” for a December calf. Consigned by Brian Call, South Carleston, Ohio, she sold after heavy bidding in the audience and on the internet. The buyer is Jason Nagel, Panama, N.Y.

Lot 25 – Harmony Corners Fanthom, was consigned by Harmony Corners Jerseys, Hamburg, Minn. The “Hired Gun” 2-year-old is due in May to “Topeka.” She was purchased by Express, Stan-Mar-Dale, and Morgan Jerseys, Urbana, Ohio, for $4250.
