The Dairyland Protein Sale was held today in Janesville, Wis., completing the Jersey cattle focus during the week of World Dairy Expo.
81 lots sold for an average of $2,232.72 with 13 buyers from IL, MN, NE, OH and WI. The volume buyer of the Dairyland Sale was Omro Dairy, Freedom, Wis., buying 22 head.
Lot 3 – ALL LYNNS HENDRIX VAL – was consigned by David Allen, Reedsburg, Wis. She is a 2-year-old fresh in late August and was purchased by Bohnert Jerseys, East Moline, Ill., for $2,800.
Tied for top selling consignment, at $2,800, is Lot 37 – SMITH HAVEN ZUMA BOBBIE. Dale Smith, Hamburg, Minn., consigned this ISDK DJ Zuma daughter who is due in November to CRF Legal Promise, 203JE1347. She was purchased by Andrew Mowen, Shobonier, Ill.
The second highest price of the day was $2,750. Lot 30 – DAIRYMAN TBONE 2020 – was consigned by Hoards Dairyman Farm, Fort Atkinson, Wis. She is due in mid-October to Sexed Forest Glen Action Jr., 7JE1048 and is a daughter of Riches Jace TBone A364.
Next high seller was Lot 58 – LVALUE SUNFLOWER – who fetched a price of $2,700. Amy & Kara Maxwell, Donahue, Iowa consigned this 2nd lactation cow who is due back again in April to Faria Brothers Badger, 1JE862. Vantress Jerseys, Xenia, Ohio, purchased the DLM Legion Value, 7JE979, daughter.
