Ohio Fall Production Sale Wrap-up

Ohio Fall Sale

It was a very cold, rainy day in Wooster, Ohio for the 2013 Ohio Fall Production Sale but the barn was warm from our great crowd. We sold 194 head that grossed $169,540 which gave us an average of $873.92. I signed up 42 buyers from OH, PA, CO, NE, IN & WI. The high selling lot was #2, consigned by Philip Myers, Louisville, OH and purchased by Jason Cast, Beaver Crossing, NE for $2,800. Second highest lot was #39, consigned by Maple Hill Farm, Glenford, OH and was purchased by Vantress Jerseys, Xenia, OH for $2,200. The third highest selling lot was #70, consigned by the Scott Family, Malta, OH and was purchased by Sam, Angela & George Colpetzer, Greenville, PA for $2,000.

The volume buyer was the Colpetzer Family, PA with the purchase of 52 head.

The average on the cows was $1,021.76

Average for 1st trimester bred heifers was $726.43

Average for 2nd trimester bred heifers was $978.75

Average for 3rd trimester bred heifers was $1,276.70

Open Yearlings averaged $481.09

10-12 month old heifers averaged $494.00

7-9 month old heifers averaged $447.78

4-6 month old heifers averaged $402.62

1-3 month old heifers averaged $241.67

 The breeding age “Action” bull out of Arethusa First Prize Vienna, EX-91%, which was added Lot #219, consigned by Kari Michalovich, Lakeville, OH was the last animal to sell and it was well received.  Lake-Point Vegas Action sold to the Colpetzer Family, PA for $1,700.
