New England Sale Wrap-up

The New England Spring Sale had a GREAT weather day today, the sun was shining and the wind wasn’t blowing! The crowd was small but mighty, bidding on 172 lots ranging from young open heifers to close springing heifers. The sale averaged $1,068.

High Selling Lot of the day was Lot 61: Consigned by Eric Craig, NY, this June 2011 heifer sold bred 11/2012 to Sexed “Verbatim” to Conrad Frennier, NY for $2450.

Second High Lot of the day was Lot 173: A June 2011 bred heifer, due in May to “Zuma” was consigned by Paul Chittenden, NY and was purchased for $1,775 by Jay Hoyt, NY

The 62nd Annual New England Spring Sale will be Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in New Haven, VT.
Age groups selling – young calves up to springing heifers. Milk Cows are not selling at this event.

Check back for more heifer highlights throughout the week. This sale WILL NOT be broadcast live, but any member of the sale staff will be happy to talk to you about the consignments and handle your bidding, if needed.

Jersey Bid    The April Jersey Bid Auction is underway and will close on April 23 at 1:30 p.m. (EST). A nice selection of embryos are available – including 4 groups of EXPORTABLE embryos – a Full Flush contracted to Accelerated Genetics – and a group made for a contract mating! Two bulls are available – BOTH WITH GENOMICS! Semen is also available. A lot of “Jace” is up for grabs, as well as a variety pack (5 bulls, 50 units) – with great daughter pictures.

The Meadow View Sale was a chilly windy day in PA, proving winter hasn’t released it’s hold on the country just yet!
It was a great day for the Rhein family, selling 246 head of milk cows / dry cows / springers / bred heifers / open heifers and calves. The average was $1263.82!

The top selling lot was Lot 2066 – purchased by Sexing Technologies for $10,900.

Second top selling lot was 1919 – Craig Rhein purchased her – dissolving the partnership – for $4,600.
