Wisconsin State Sale Wrap-up

On Tuesday, May 14, 2013 the Wisconsin Jersey Breeders closed out the first state Jersey sale sold 100% online. A total of 31 lots of open and bred heifers, milk cows and embryos were available for sale on the Jersey Bid program developed and managed by Jersey Marketing Service. Two pen lots of six bred heifers and six young fresh cows were part of the line-up. Twenty-six lots sold for an average of $2,293.96 with the top seller being Lot 1. Shot of Nat Dimension Tiramisu was consigned to the Wisconsin State Sale by Shot of Nat, LLC, DeForest, WI. She is a “Dimension” daughter, born January 2013 with a GJPI of 224. Selling for $10,726, she now has a new home in Tremont, IL at River Valley Dairy. There was a great amount of activity on this young heifer at sale closing time. Lot 2 was the second high seller of the online auction and was consigned by D&D Jerseys, Newton, WI. Heartland Zuma Dinah is an October 2012 “Zuma” daughter. Out bidding five other bidders, Lloyd Heinz, Shawano, WI purchased this GJPI 212 heifer for $3,676.

The Wisconsin State Sale on Jersey Bid went live for bidding starting on May 6, 2013. Bidders could browse the lots and place bids throughout the nine days of the online auction, with final close-out of the lots starting at 1:30 p.m. May 14. With the Jersey Bid online sale program, the consignor has the option to set a minimum bid on their lot or allow the bidders to completely decide on the price of the consignment. Out of the 31 lots listed on Jersey Bid as part of the Wisconsin State Sale, all of the ten lots sold that were listed with the “Absolute” Option, meaning no minimum bid was set.

WI Mad Mimi   The Wisconsin State Jersey Sale is open for bidding on the Jersey Bid Auction site. The sale boasts of 33 lots, with a variety of genetics available. Daughters and Grandaughters of National Grand Champions are selling, and high genomic pedigrees are a focus. Group lots and single lots of bred heifers and milk cows are on the sale, due soon or recently fresh – adding quick milk into your tank! Some project, show calves are also selling – for all the 4-H members looking for a nice calf for the shows this summer!

It was a beautiful day in Norwich, NY today, as buyers and bidders attended the New York Spring Sale.

96 head of Milk Cows / Dry Cows / Bred Heifers / Open Heifers / Baby Calves for an average of $987.24

The Top Selling lot was # 43, a bred heifer from Ralph Taylor, NY and purchased by ScotchView Farm, NY for $1,825

Second High seller of the day was Lot 55, from Kevin & Annetta Herrington, NY. She is carrying a BW Rebellion embryo from Oakfield TBone Vanessa-ET, VG-88%. She was purchased for $1650 by Larry Duvall, OH.
