The Ohio Spring Classic Sale boasted of a beautiful day in the weather department, giving a hint of the summer to arrive after such a bitter winter. A grand total of 93 lots of live cattle and 1 lot of a semen tank and inventory brought the average of the sale to $2,231.65 and a total gross of $209,775.
The consignors and buyers utilized the internet as part of this annual event. Some individuals, live choices, pen lots of heifers and a semen tank with inventory started the sale a week ago on JerseyBid.com. Bidding was then moved to the live sale today, starting where the online bidding left off.
Bringing both the online auction and the live cattle together for bidding today was the live internet broadcast and bidding with the help of JerseyAuctionLive.com. 23 head sold to 8 internet buyers today, with the remainder being sold in the live audience or over the phone!
