The Dairyland Protein Sale was held in Janesville, Wis., as part of the Jersey events in the area during World Dairy Expo.
A total of 15 different buyers from six different states and Canada purchased Registered Jerseys from mostly upper mid-west breeders. Featuring cows and bred heifers with a few Open heifers, 164 head crossed the auction block for an average of $1005.
- Lot 126 was the high selling lot, at $1500. JX Dairyman Genominator 3217 {5}, was consigned by Hoards Dairyman Farm, Ft. Atkinson, WI and bought by Sequin Farms of London, Ontario, Canada.
- Lot 144 also sold for $1500 and hailed from Hoards Dairyman Farm. Dairyman Done Right 3399 will now reside in Chandler, Tx., at Nico DeBoer.
- Lot 73 – Crosswind Lemonhead 7338 {4}, consigned by Crosswind Jerseys, Elton, SD, and purchased by Nico DeBoer for $1450.
- Lot 173 was part of Kentucky breeder, Luke McCoy’s Consignments. KCJF Millions Solstice Sami sold to Kris Garbrecht, Oconto Falls, WI for $1450.
- Lot 40 – TLJ Irwin Compton, sold by Travis Lenhertz, Plainview, MN. She was purchased by Kris Garbrecht for $1400
- Lot 103 – Crosswind Smack 7605 {6}, of Crosswind Jerseys sold for $1400 to Elizabeth Moss, Cottage Grove, TN
- Elizabeth also purchased Lot 161 for $1400. Van Dell Lemonhead 266 was sold by Vandell Farms in Sharon WI.
